Cathie Pilkington

Shown here are a few examples from a very productive period when Cathie was working in the studio on a number of large scale monoprints.

She used a combination of cut paper stencils and painterly printed ink layers to build these delicate and atmospheric images making full use of the transparent and opaque qualities of lithographic ink.

Printed on Bunkoshi Japanese paper, this series of unique prints are a great example of an artist exploring their imagery through the monoprint medium combining a playful sensitivity with dynamic image building.
